Overview

Luyu is a lifestyle wellness app that offers one daily reflection inspired by Vedic wisdom, Ayurveda, yoga, and Jyotish for self-care, awareness, and daily ritual. Luyu is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, cure, or prevention of any medical condition.

Luyu is designed to use the minimum data needed for its features.

Data We Do Not Collect

Luyu does not require an account. Luyu does not intentionally collect:

• Names
• Email addresses
• Phone numbers
• Medical records
• Health records
• HealthKit or Google Health Connect data
• Payment information in the current version
• Advertising identifiers

Luyu does not sell personal data or use personal data for advertising or profiling.

Data Used On Device

Luyu stores the following data locally on your device:

• Daily reflection cache
• Check-in status
• Streak count
• Whether you acknowledged the wellness notice
• Widget display data needed to show the daily reflection, check state, and streak

This local data is used to keep the app and widgets working. If you delete the app, this local data is deleted from your device.

You can also clear check-ins, streaks, cached reflections, and widget display data from the Settings screen using "Reset local data." This does not change your operating system location permission; location permission can be changed in your device settings.

Location Permission

Location permission is optional. If you allow location access, Luyu uses your approximate/current location only to:

• Calculate local sunrise timing
• Request local weather context from Open-Meteo
• Shape the daily reflection using local environmental and time-of-day context

Luyu does not use background location tracking.

Luyu does not continuously track your location.

Luyu does not reverse geocode your location to look up your city name.

Luyu does not sell or share your location for advertising.

Weather Data

Luyu uses Open-Meteo to retrieve weather and sunrise information. The app sends latitude and longitude to Open-Meteo only to request weather and sunrise data. Open-Meteo is a third-party weather provider. Please review Open-Meteo's privacy documentation for how it handles requests.

AI-Supported Reflections

Luyu may use an AI provider to generate daily reflections.

To minimize data shared with the AI provider, Luyu does not send your precise location, city name, health records, account information, or medical data to the AI prompt.

The AI prompt is designed to use non-identifying context quietly in the background, such as:

• Season
• Time of day
• Weather description
• Temperature
• Wind speed
• Environmental dosha quality

Luyu does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition.

Luyu does not replace advice from qualified healthcare professionals.

Children

Luyu is not intended to collect personal information from children. If the app is later made available to children, additional privacy and safety requirements may apply.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as Luyu evolves. Updates will be reflected by changing the "Last updated" date.
