Overview

Luyu is a lifestyle wellness app that offers one daily reflection inspired by Vedic wisdom, Ayurveda, Yoga, and Jyotish for self-care, awareness, and daily ritual. Luyu is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, cure, or prevention of any medical condition.

Luyu does not collect personal data. The app does not send your information to us or to any service.

What Luyu Does Not Collect

Luyu does not require an account. Luyu does not collect:

• Names
• Email addresses
• Phone numbers
• Location (GPS or network location)
• Live weather data
• Photos or videos from your library
• Medical records
• Health records
• HealthKit or Google Health Connect data
• Payment information
• Advertising identifiers

Luyu does not sell personal data or use personal data for advertising or profiling.

withluyu.com does not run an email list or other signup form.

Data Used On Device

Luyu stores the following data locally on your device only:

• Dates you opened the app (used for a local day count and Archive). On the free plan, Archive shows up to the last nine reflections — aligned with nine themes. Missing a day does not reset the count
• An optional country you pick in Settings, used only on the device to know your hemisphere so the Vedic season (ṛtu) is oriented correctly — never sent anywhere, and not live weather
• Whether you acknowledged the wellness notice
• A first-open mark on this device (used only locally; for example, to recognize that you started during a free period if a paid plan is added later)
• Widget display data needed to show the optional small doorway (name, short theme line, arc)

This local data stays on your device. Luyu does not upload it to Luyu servers.

The supported way to move it to another phone is Settings → Export / Import (a backup file you save yourself). On Android, Luyu does not participate in Google's automatic app backup. On iPhone, your device or iCloud backup may still include app data if you use those system backups — that stays between you and Apple, not with Luyu.

If you delete the app and have no Export file (and no restoring system backup), this local data is removed from that device.

You can clear opened days, country, and related display data from Settings using "Reset local data."

Saving a reflection card

If you choose Save or Share and allow photo access to add an image, Luyu writes a reflection card that you created into your gallery. Luyu does not read or upload your existing photos.

Location

Luyu does not ask for location permission and does not read your location.

Reflections

Daily reflections are written in advance and stored inside the app. The app does not call an AI service or a weather service while you use it.

Luyu does not replace advice from qualified healthcare professionals.

Your rights

Because Luyu does not collect personal data on our servers, there is no Luyu account profile for us to access, correct, or delete remotely.

On your device, you can:

• Change or clear your optional country in Settings
• Clear opened days, country, and related local data with "Reset local data"
• Export a local backup file from Settings, and import it later on the same or another phone
• Uninstall the app, which removes Luyu's local data from that device (unless a system backup you control restores it)

If you write to us at hello@withluyu.com, we only see what you choose to put in that message, and you may ask us to delete that correspondence.

Children

Luyu is not directed at children. We do not collect personal information from children.
