Overview

Luyu is a lifestyle app that offers one daily reflection inspired by Ayurveda, Yoga and other Vedic traditions for self-care, awareness, and daily ritual. Luyu is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, cure, or prevention of any medical condition.

Luyu does not collect personal data. The app does not send your information to us or to any service.

What Luyu Does Not Collect

Luyu does not require an account. Luyu does not collect:

• Names
• Email addresses
• Phone numbers
• Location (GPS or network location)
• Live weather data
• Photos or videos from your library
• Medical records
• Health records
• HealthKit or Google Health Connect data
• Payment information
• Advertising identifiers

Luyu does not sell personal data or use personal data for advertising or profiling.

Luyu does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

withluyu.com does not run an email list or other signup form.

Data Used On Device

Luyu stores the following data locally on your device only:

• Dates you opened the app (used for a local day count and Archive). Archive keeps your last nine reflections on this device — aligned with nine themes. Missing a day does not reset the count
• An optional country you pick in Settings, used only on the device to know your hemisphere so the Vedic season (ṛtu) is oriented correctly — never sent anywhere, and not live weather
• Whether you acknowledged the Health disclaimer
• A first-open mark on this device (used only locally to recognize that you started using Luyu on this device)
• Widget display data needed to show the optional small doorway (name, short theme line)

This local data stays on your device. Luyu does not upload it to Luyu servers.

The supported way to move it to another device is Settings → Export / Import (a backup file you save yourself). On Android, Luyu does not participate in Google's automatic app backup. On iPhone, your device or iCloud backup may still include app data if you use those system backups — that stays between you and Apple, not with Luyu.

Retention

Local on-device data is kept only until you delete or reset it.

You can clear opened days, country, and related display data from Settings using "Reset local data."

If you delete the app and have no Export file (and no restoring system backup), this local data is removed from that device.

Luyu does not keep a copy of this data on Luyu servers, so there is nothing for us to retain after you clear or remove it on your device.

Saving a reflection card

If you choose Save or Share and allow permission to save an image to your gallery, Luyu writes a reflection card that you created into your gallery. Luyu does not read or upload your existing photos.

Local widget refresh

Luyu may schedule inexact local on-device alarms to refresh the optional home widget (for example around sunrise). These alarms are planned on your device only. Luyu does not use exact alarms, and these are not push notifications from Luyu servers.

Location

Luyu does not ask for location permission and does not read your location.

Reflections

Daily reflections are written in advance and stored inside the app. The app does not call an AI service or a weather service while you use it.

Reflections are for general lifestyle and self-care only. They are not medical advice.

Medical disclaimer

Luyu is not a medical device.

Luyu does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition.

Luyu does not replace advice from qualified healthcare professionals.

If you have medical questions or concerns, consult a qualified healthcare professional.

Your rights

Under GDPR and similar privacy laws, people may have rights such as access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Because Luyu does not collect personal data and does not hold personal data on Luyu servers, these rights are already effectively met for app use: there is no Luyu-held personal data for us to look up, change, or erase remotely. You control what stays on your device.

• Access — There is no Luyu account profile or server-side personal data set for us to provide. On your device, you can see and export what Luyu stores locally (Settings → Export).
• Rectification — There is no Luyu-held personal profile for us to correct. On your device, you can change or clear your optional country and related local data in Settings.
• Erasure — There is no Luyu-held personal data for us to delete. On your device, use "Reset local data" or uninstall the app (unless a system backup you control restores it).
• Restriction — Luyu does not collect personal data on servers, so there is no Luyu-held personal data for us to restrict. Local data stays only on your device under your control.
• Data portability — There is no Luyu account export from our servers. On your device, Settings → Export creates a backup file you save yourself; you can Import it later on the same or another device.
• Objection — Luyu does not collect personal data for advertising, profiling, or similar uses, so there is no such Luyu-side activity to object to for normal app use.
• Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — You may contact your local data-protection authority if you wish. For Luyu app use, we do not hold personal data on our servers; device data remains under your control.

On your device, you can:

• Change or clear your optional country in Settings
• Clear opened days, country, and related local data with "Reset local data"
• Export a local backup file from Settings, and import it later on the same or another device
• Uninstall the app, which removes Luyu's local data from that device (unless a system backup you control restores it)

If you write to us at hello@withluyu.com, we only see what you choose to put in that message, and you may ask us to delete that correspondence.

International hosting

Our website (withluyu.com) is hosted by Netlify, which may process technical data such as IP addresses in server logs, possibly on servers outside your country. The app itself does not send any data to Netlify or to us. Luyu does not run an email list or other signup on the site.

Children

Luyu is not directed at children. We do not collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as Luyu evolves. Updates will be reflected by changing the "Last updated" date.
